Bad Bad Pug Blogger

Suki Sumo here, reporting from the busy Sumo household.
Mommy had a crazy week of work which meant that I got to hang with my newly retired Grandpa and uncle Trigger. Unfortunately, nodoggy took pictures of this so you'll just have to imagine the rowdy playtime fun.

Yesterday was the V.E.T. day to get my stitchies out. We had some extra time before the appointment so mommy bought me this new Crabby Pants or Crab Cake or something like that and it is the best squeakable ever.
My parents quickly realized those eyeballs were going to be trouble so they performed the amputation opawation before I could get to them and eat them up. I've already got two nice holes started. This Crabby Pants won't last for long!

Today is Randay so mommy and I are browsing the internets and catching up on the dog blogs.
Daddy is watching the news and I am staying informed on all the current news and pawlitics.
And we're cuddling, because it is cold outside.
I want to publicly announce that as of last week I do not like winter and can't wait for grass to come back. There is nothing worse than having to do my official bidness outside in the cold and snow. I imagine my paws could fall off in those negative temperatures, so the parents are considering their potty options. Does any other dog have to go in a litter box during the winter? Is this undignified for a dog? Would this make me a ... cat?

Mom would now like to now do the activity that Clover's mom tagged her for: "Devise a list of 5-10 courses you would take to fix your life. It’s more fun to be in classes with friends, so include one class from the person who tagged you that you’d also like to take. Tag five."

1. Learn to Love Cooking! I can make a few meals but cooking is definitely not one of my strengths. While I like to eat, cooking is not exciting to me. Plus I despise grocery shopping.

2. Yoga (I would take this with Jess) - when I took this is college I loved it and felt so flexible and strong. I'll have to find a class that meets at a good time this winter (as in, not at 5 a.m. and not at 8 p.m.).

3. Dance Lessons - I wish Leo and I could dance really well, especially with the upcoming wedding. Leo's mom has offered to pay for lessons but with work these days there just hasn't been much time. Which leads me to my next class:

4. Effective Time Management 101 - there is so much to do and not enough hours in the day! I want to figure out how to spend quality time with Suki and Leo, work out, learn to dance, craft, keep a clean apartment, socialize, plan the wedding, cook, and read all the dog blogs. What I need is a personal scheduler.

5. Money Management - I'm not terrible with money but I wish I could do more with what I earn. Mostly I want to save more so one day we can buy a house with a yard for Suki!

6. Relaxation and Meditation - enough said!

7. Digital Photography - I've taken a black & white photography class before and I really enjoyed it. I would love to buy a Cannon EOS camera one day (see Money Management Class!) and learn to use it well.

8. Be the Decider - Unlike Dubbya, I am not the Decider and I have a really hard time choosing between a list of options. I inherited this from my dad (Suki's grandpa). From deciding where I want to live to picking out a meal at a restaurant - I could change my mind all day long. I've learned that the fewer options I have, the better - especially with the wedding planning these days!

For this I tag some moms again: Randi's mom, Ruby's mom, Ricky's mom, Tadpole & Fig's Massah, and Jemima's mom! I understand if you don't have time, just do it if you feel like it! :)

No way -- you could never be a cat (don't even suggest that!). You have got to be the cutest blogger. Hope your stitch removal went painlessly.

It got sub-zero in NYC also during the winters. My parents bought a whole truckload of chucks (those blue pads that people use for potty training) and taught me to pee and poop on those, which I do about 90% of the time.

Nope - other doggies on here have a inside potty they use. I'm working on Massah on that... I've poo'd in the house EVERY DAY since the snow came (almost 2 weeks!!!). I think she's starting to get the hint and look for other options too! Good luck!

yes, we have heard of litter training a pug! Supposidly, you buy a large shallow liter box, fill it with liter, then spray this icky stuff from pet smart on it ,which smells like pee pee to encourage puggie to go potty on it! Just make sure the pan is shallow to get in and out( or cut down the short side so puggie can just walk in and out) and make sure you put the spray and put a little rug near so litter doesnt get all over the house! Good luck! Let us know if it works!

I think I would just let loose all over the floor if I had to do my business in that snow nonsense. It is just too cold for squatting in!

Hi Suki Su...
I just couldn't imagine having to peepee in the snow. BRRRRRR...bad enough I have to do it in the cold! I wouldn't think any less of you if you used a little box...I mean it.

Oh and my Mom says thanks for the tag...she's gonna think hard about it and work on it this week.

Lots of Licks, Ruby

Suki Sumo Girl!

You will NEVER be a cat! Although, I understand why you might like to do the bidness inside! Hopefully you will be able to rig something up so you minimize the time your hiney's exposed in the sub-zero temps.

Your mama sounds a little like my girl and they could take many of the same classes... if she could get a handle on her time.

By the way. I saw that a pug named Pedro won one of the categories for Dogster's photo contest. Was that YOUR Pedro?

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

How did your visit to the VET go? I do my business indoors too and we have this pee tray which I know is my own pawsonal toilet. I don't think that makes me a cat! yikes.

Try holding your paws up and whining - then they will carry you. Or just poo by the door.

Hi Suki!
I love all your pictures in this post! You have such a cute little face. Mr Crabby looks like a lot of fun to play with. What was it like to get your stitchies out? I had the kind that dissolve, I think they are all gone now.
I am starting to really like the snow! I run around in it and play! Maybe I have less cold snow here?
Love Clover xo
P.S. Please tell your mom thanks for doing the tag! Good class choices! :)

oh! my mom will do the tag soon :)

I hate the cold and would rather pee on the carpet. My sisters use these pee-pads though - I don't get the whole pee-pad thing but they seem to know that's where the mom wants them to go. There are pee pads in every room in the house!
xoxo,
Ricky

Lookin' good Suki! I would love to get my paws on that crabby patty!

You should have your Mom get you a pair of puppy sneaks! I am glad it doesn't get too cold up here. What little snow I did have I did not like. You should try and convince your Mom to get a warm weather winter home. Hehe... I think that is a little more money though.

I HATE going out in the rain to tinkle more than the snow. Although I do not like my precious feets getting too cold. I can hold it forever though. Sometimes I refuse to go out for 12 - 14 hours!

That's because I'm a diva.

And I HATE going outside to do my business in the ICE. It's way too cold and slippery around here.

Hey--I'm with you on this cold weather business. Though I do kind of like the snow even though my, er, bits get chilled.

I'm glad you got your stitchies out! You and my sissy are SCAR sisters now! That sounds totally tuff!

Awww we love your harness! Also, we sometimes use the indoor potty, its not so bad once you get used to it! We prefer going outside but not when its cold! Dont worry, we wont think any less of you if you use the indoor potty!
