My buddy Jake passed away today, just a few minutes ago. He had a very brief illness and his passing was very quick, albeit unexpected.

Jake, you were a tough guy with a unique sense of humor, a submarine tail, and a beagle howl like none other. You lived a hard life in many ways but you were also quite the pampered pooch at the Big House. You taught me how to bark at strangers, keep my nose to the ground at all times, and how to score extra treats by doing a dance on your tippie toes for the hoomans.

Rest in peace, little man. Our hearts are broken.

Omd you guys, mama has been so bad. She basically abandoned my dog blog and I am way puggy peeved. I want you to know though, that big bad lady has all of your blogs on her Google Reader and I totally keep up with them but forget to comment. So bascially, I know everything about you (if you update!) and you know nothing about me... Stalker much? So, sorry if that gives you the creeps.

Uncle Jakey Doodle the Beagle with the Periscope Tail came over to visit. Mama said he has been so overwhelmed by the all the dogs and the hooman toddler up at the Big House that he needed a dogcation.

If this hard week had taught me anything, it's that I need to make more of an effort to stay close to all my friends!

So I am going to try harder. Try to... harass mom to post more pictures of my pug mug! And all sorts of fun events. So much has happened lately! For instance, did you all know that I have a cousin? Her name is Kinsy and her first word was "DOGGY" because she is pawsome!

And a new buddy named Blanca too who adopted my aunti Jen!

Later I will dedicate an entire post to my new real life best friend/arch enemy, and explain that whole concept.

I hope everydoggy is doing well! And I want you all to know that although I may not comment I have been keeping up with your blogs the whole time on mom's google reader!

Merry Christmas, everydoggy! And a happy birthday to my dad. He's a super guy and I love him like crazy.
We've been counting down to Christmas in Casa de Pug. Grandma gave me an advent calendar that dispenses TREATS for twelve days! I have had to remind mama every morning that I am entitled to my goodies by flashing my alien eyes.
Delicious.
And in case you were wondering, here is what I have been up to lately: Chewing my corn toy,
working on my buggy puggy eyes,
cuddling with mama,bathing,being mortified by mama's taste in clothing,terrorizing stuffies,and being goofy!

Queen of Pug Mountain!

Even though this picture looks incriminating, I did not pee on this pawticular pile of laundry today.
I know many pups have an affinity for piles of laundry and I am no exception. I can expect a nice soft mountain every Sunday afternoon at Casa de Pug. These are dirty towels though so I punished daddy for his laziness by making pee on a pile of his clothes. The look on his face was definitely worth the scolding I got when he found out.

Hi pups- sorry I've been gone so long. Mom started a new job (!) and I went on vacation for about 10 days up at the Big House. While I was relaxing with Moj, Trigs, Jake and Chili, mom and dad were traveling. They visited lots of places, including some old dude made of rock in South Dakota,
A big dark hole in the earth,
the place where people used to live in scary steep cliffs,
mountains!
(pretty!)
and finally, the place where they played lots of loud music.
When we all got home, mama put together a new shop while I supervised (notice my watchful eye).
Since then, we've been busy thinking about Pug-O-Ween and trying to decide how to dress up.
If I look a little worried in this picture it's because I think this costume is a little crazy. A c-a-t AND a skelly-ton?
This doesn't make any sense... Maybe the altitude is still affecting mama's brain?
Need I remind you that I do NOT get along with c-a-t-s?
Enough with the kitty ears! Underneath the skelly-ton I am wearing my snowpeople jammies. It has been so cold and SNOWY here. We're not really ready for winter, but what is a puggy to do besides burrow in some warm blankies to stay warm? What do you doggies do to stay warm?

Neglected

Mom got a new job two weeks ago which she is totes excitered about but it keeps her away from home for many hours a day. This makes me a super sad puggy.
Luckly she feels really guilty and gives me extra treats and lovins when we're together. Here is a shot of me this morning while mom and I were playing with my blanket. Can you see how happy this attention makes me?
I am basically as cute as ever but I am hoping to put an end to this mommy-goes-to-work business. Any ideas?

There are two reasons why today is special. First, it is mother's day and we want to send lots of love to mamas, baby mamas, pug mamas and general dog mamas.
The second reason it's a spectacular special day is because today is my 2nd barkday! I spent the morning lounging in true pug style.
Now mom is going to take me to PetSmart to get some treats and good barkday lovin'. Then- the bark park! Hopefully I'll post pictures soon.

Mom and I have this little game. It's called Unsuspecting Pug. Can you guess what we do? Here is a tutorial.

You never know when the hand will strike, hence the name of the game. You don't want to be an unsuspecting pug.
We usually play this game in the morning before we get out of beds.

Mojo has been terrorizing mom all morning by nibbling* at her big people toes unexpectedly. He did it when she sat on the couch to check her email, while she was washing her face and while in the closet picking out clothes to wear today. Do any of you doggins show love for your peeps in this way?
She's not sure how to make him STOP and it's freaking her out! Hahahahaha!

Does anyone else see a resemblance!? Mom thinks so, right down to my head marking and my chinny-chin-chin. I wonder if I was the pug-spiration for that painting? If you read the description, it's even named after me.

*Update: We contacted the artist and she was commissioned by someone else with a pug named Suki. What a crazy CUTE coincidence. We had to buy it.

OMD, it has been like a million puggy years since we have blogged. And it is my mom's fault entirely. She worked a lot through Christmas, and now she doesn't have a jay-oh-bee at all and has been searching and searching. No more school, either. So what has she been spending all her time on? Crafting. Seriously, crafting. NOT blogging. But not completely ignoring us puggies, so we can't complain too much.

The first thing I want to say is a big public bloggy THANK YOU to my bff Clover for the Christmas package she sent us last month. We really enjoyed the giftables! And we're really sorry we didn't post about it sooner. Here are the pictures of us opening and enjoying this loveryly package:

Gingerbread Man! This is our favorite toy right now. The squeaking drives us bonkers (in a good way!). Mom and dad came up with a silly little voice for Gingerbread Man. He also came with a gingerbread bone but we ripped its guts out, literally.
This is my favorite toy of all time- ROPE SQUIRREL! Rope Squirrel is pawfect in every way and I love her so.
We also love- err, loved Squishy Carrot. We also ripped out Squishy Carrot's guts.
And we saved the best part for last. These are by far the most tasty TREATS we have ever eaten. Seriously, you won't believe the tricks I'll do for these potato and cheese treats!
See? Sit AND down at the same time. All for the treats.

Other than that, we don't have much to update. It has been cold- colder than usual. Auntie Sara made us some scarfs so we've been in full cuddle mode.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, friends!
We had an eventful holiday. First we celebrated dad's birthday at Nana Rita's house (that's dad's mom) and then we spent the night at the Big House with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Maui, Kinsy, Trigger, Jake and Chili! It was a FULL house and none of us got much sleep.

Here are some pictures from dad's birthday celebration with our friends. Dad had a CHEESEcake and I really wanted all that FOOD.
Auntie Sara was a bad influence on Mojo and he stole a few licks of the sauce. Don't worry! The bottle was empty.
These are some pictures of our Christmas togetherness. We got some really pawesome gifts!
Next post I am going to tell you all about the special package that came all the way from Canada for us!

And since it's a special day and we're not doing much of anything right now I am going to let mom take care of a meme she was tagged to do by Ike's mom. Warning: She is kind of a geek.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I really like wrapping but I try to use as little packaging as possible. If we have left over gift bags I use those first.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. I am very allergic to pine.

3. When do you put up the tree? The first or second weekend in December.

4. Wreath on your door? I bought one from the neighborhood boy scout this year and I love it. It's real but since it's outside and frozen I can have it!

5. Do you like eggnog? Only soy nog. I've never liked real egg nog.

6. Favourite Christmas gift received as a child? I don't remember many gifts but this cool Lego type toy with little plastic people and a Rainbow Brite I got when I was about 2 years old in New Mexico. It's crazy how clearly I can remember that Christmas. This year I am not a child but Leo and I received a Wii from my parents and that's pretty cool!

7. Easiest person to buy for? It is really fun to shop for Leo and he seems to like the things I get him.

8. Least easiest? My dad. He buys whatever he really wants himself and I can't afford the tools and things that are left over. I usually end up getting him consumables like bourbon.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but they are interesting. My mom has a beautiful ceramic nativity that my grandma made her with a teeny tiny hay bale that I really loved as a kid.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, and only a handful.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? One year my work did a secret Santa gift exchange and I put a lot of effort into my person but all I got was a weird penguin ornament that was obviously used. That was pretty bad.

12. Favourite Christmas Movie? How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon), Home Alone and Elf.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? After Thanksgiving.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Probably, but I can't remember a time right now.

15. Open presents on Christmas eve or morning? My family used to open them on Christmas Eve night until I started dating Leo. Now I celebrate his birthday with his mom and him on the 24th and we open presents with my family on the 25th.

16. Lights on the tree? Strictly white- no colors!

17. Favourite Christmas song? Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. I just can't get enough of that song. I also get a kick out of that George Michael song because it is so ridiculous.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel to my parents' house about 30 minutes away.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph. I had to ask for Leo's help a little (the puggies had no idea).

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? A glittery star.

21. Favourite thing to eat at Christmas? Wild rice, candied yams and anything sweet.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Now that I'm back in retail (between jobs, whatever) for the holidays, people who wait until the last minute to shop and then get pissed off when the store is out of the things they want.

23. Favourite Tree ornament, theme or colour? I like reds and golds and a white moose ornament that says "Jenny" on it.

24. Favourite for Christmas dinner? Turkey and mashed or twice-baked potatoes.

25. Brussels Sprouts - love or hate them? They're alright but I prefer peas or green beans.

26. Favourite accompaniment to the Christmas Pud? I have never had a Christmas Pud. Will someone please tell me what that is?

27. Favourite Christmas Carol? O Holy Night. Just love that melody.

28. Your very Favourite Christmas Thing? Christmas morning and breakfast. I love the family togetherness.

29. A Christmas wish! Health to Kinsy and the family. And to be able to have a family of my own someday!

Mom and dad have been busy peeps this week because Aunti Maui finally finished cooking up that baby in her belly and we have a new cousin. Hooray! Welcome to the world, Miss Kinsy!
Grandpa was so proud of Aunti Maui and is head over heels for Kinsy.
They're going to be best buddies.
She's a teeny tiny thing and we're not allowed to meet her in real life until this weekend. Mom says NO PUGGY KISSES till she gets older. She looks like a tasty little tootsie pop to me! Even our dad is in love with Kinsy!
Mom thinks he looks mighty handsome with a baby in his arms. Mojo and I are putting the kibosh on those baby ideas swimming in mommy's head. We love being the puggy babies of this house!

This is my second Thanksgiving feast and over the last year I have had a lot of reasons to be thankful. Here is a list of all the things I am thankful for:

1. My brother Mojo. Last weekend Moj went over to the Big House for a sleepover with Chili and I missed him terribly. Oh Mojo, how sweet it is to be loved by you.

2. Mom and dad. Mojo and I woof them and they love us too.
3. AUNTIES! They're such good friends to mommy, I love them and they spoil me so.

4. Auntie Maui gets her very own number...
...because she is cooking up a MINI AUNTIE MAUI!
(We can't wait to meet you, Kinsy! We're thankful for you already!)

5. Grandma, Grandpa, Trigger and Jakee!

Been Gone So Long

OMD we have been gone so long and we are steaming mad at mommy about that. Grrr!
We are still alive, but the dumps I had earlier this month did last a while. Mom thinks maybe I caught some bugs at the dog park- but I don't remember chasing any bugs! I gave the bug to Mojo (because I share like a good girl) and Grams and Gramps say we then gave our bugs to Uncle Trigger. The good part about being sick is that we got some NEW delicious food made of boiled beef and rice (mmm!). Here is what our foodables looked like when mom started weaning us back on the hard stuff.
And this is how excited we got about our yummy rice and beef! Don't we look like super happy pugs?
One thing we did on bloggy-vacation was watch the teevee with mom and dad.
The show was all about wolves and hawks and it was very interesting.
Hopefully we'll be around more often now because we totally miss blogging. Mom recently resigned from her job, got a new one AND started school for nursing so she pretends to be busy. I know she still has time to be our secretary every week and maybe dad will learn how to type. We'll see.

Dumps

Last week I was feeling down in the dumps... literally.
Then mom and dad went to California and we stayed at the Big House. We love the Big House but I managed to infect the other dogs there with my dumps. When mom and dad came home I found these pictures on their camera:

Mom and dad took us to the dog park the other day which is pretty much our favorite destination for a CAR RIDE ever.
While we were there we met this little black and white blob that is almost impossible to catch on a camera. Who does this look like to you? I'll give you a couple guesses:

I kept barking "HEY there, have you heard of Ruby? Are you Petra? Are you related to Fig? Maybe you know my friends?"
But she was too busy to answer.

In my last post Kaui commented that I am becoming quite a sassy girl. I have been thinking hard about this and have come to the conclusion that it is true. I am a sassy pug. When mom told us she was going to pick up a package for us I said "Say what!?"
I had to guess who it was from (I can't read english because I'm a DOG) so I sniffed it really really hard.
Smells familiar!
Could it be? Is it from my bff Clover!? She knows that my favorite toy is my rope and this one has TWO ends so I can share with my brother...
Mojo decided to keep that one for himself. Harumph!
Another rope! Now we're talkin'.

We are all moving to a new house just like Winston and Cossette and Ruby did recently.
Mom and dad took us over to the new place to check it out before we move all our bones and snacks and stuffies in this weekend.
There seems to be plenty of room for rowdiness. We approve.
It even has a huge closet for all of mommy's and my clothing!
While mom and dad pack, my new brudder and I have been lounging, playing and barking at each other. A LOT. Mom and dad and I have decided his name will always be Boo-Boo, BUT we have started calling him Mojo Risin'. And that name seems to be sticking best, silly as it is. Mom sings that song to him all day long.

Brother From Another Mother: The Untold Story

Mom and dad told me we were going for a car ride and that I would get to hang out in my brand new booster seat.
We were in the car a long long time- much longer than it usually takes to get to the Big House (grandma and grandpa's). Before I knew it we were at a big pretty park near a river and two pug dudes were there to play with me. They were fun- and wouldn't you know... soon they were in the car again with me!
One is my new brudder and one is my new uncle. The black dude's name is Boo-Boo (but we've been calling him Face a lot because of how cute his face is and because mom has always called me Boo-Boo and we're all sorts of confused now) and the fawn is named Little Guy. Check out this tongue, yo!

An Award, Water Puggy and Help!

Petra gave me this Kind Blogger Award. Thanks, Petra!! I think it means I'm KIND of cute and KIND of hungry and KIND of a pain in my mom's butt because I'm whining at her right now! I will give this award to Clover because she is the real kind of kind.

Mom took the day off so this morning we went for a nice long walk. It was hot. We always bring water but summertime walkies have to be shorter than the ones in the fall and spring. After hot walkies we come home and mom always fills the tub with nice cool water.
This cools me right down and I love splashing in the water and kerplunking all over the tub. Usually I pretend like I am digging a really big hole in the tub. Mom keeps her camera far away from that. I also play with the blue popsicle that Clover sent me.

After the tub I am a totally rejuvenated puggy. I get the ZOOMIES and find some socks to play with. Today mom wasn't fast enough to catch any pictures of it.

So much stuff. I'm a little embarrassed that our fridge doesn't look as clean as all of yours do.

This is the top of the fridge where mom and dad keep the TREATS (and a really old bottle of Kahlúa). I still have a few treats left from the package Clover sent me because I like to savor their flavor. Mmm.
On the side of the fridge is a picture of me almost a year ago. OMD, I was so so cute!
Mom totally forgot to take a picture of the inside of the fridge but I can assure you the only thing interesting in there is daddy's milk (since I still enjoy a little milk on occasion to remind me of my puppyhood up on the dairy farm). I'm not a fan of mommy's soy milk.

Since this is my blog and I have mom's attention I will also show you some pictures from the last few days. This is me lounging right outside the kitchen looking for snacks.

When mom and dad told me they were going on a honeymoon waaaay up north almost to Canada, I though about all the stuff I would need to take along.And I packed my suitcase. But then daddy told me that I wasn't going to the very very top of Minnesota. I had to take my suitcase to grandma and grandpa's house. I am always excited to go to their house because Jakey and Trigs and I have a fabulous time. And I got to play with this new totally pawsome toy.
When mom and dad came home, I saw pictures of the trip and am NOT sad that I missed out on this: Boring.

My best buddy, Clover sent me a pressie all the way from Cananada! It arrived in our mailbox in a heap - the US Postal Service did a number on the package and then stuffed everything in a plastic bag, but all of the contents arrived undamaged.

I love getting mail and Clover sends some pawsome packages!

First I had to investigate (such lovely colors!).
I called Trigger over for help.
First we found my favorite kind of TREATABLES! OMD I love those bacon and cheese treats - they are soooo tasty.
Then a blue pawpsicle toy that squeaks.
And a very expensive imported Canadian pawfume stuffie called Eau de Pooch. Clover has a taste for only the finest stuffies.
Clover, you are so sweet for thinking of me and sending giftables. Even the tissue is a fun new toy!

Wedding Pug

I hope everydoggy can forgive me for my long absence from blogging. I promise I have a good excuse: Mommy and daddy got hitched this weekend! I've been so busy helping them by visiting with family and out of town guests and being a pretty good puggy... mostly.

Before wedding rehearsal on Tuesday, grandma and aunti Maui took me to get gussied up at the doggy day spa.

On Wednesday we had a HOT rehearsal.
I am in the front mooning the camera. Rehearsal was really hard. I was overheated and overstimulated and overexcitered about being around so many of my favorite people. The trip down the isle was disastrous! I was confused and kept winding around the flower girl and dragged her down the isle cause I just wanted to get out of the sun and into the shade.

I was so naughty and hot at rehearsal that I got 86'd from the ceremony. I think I had way more fun at home with Trigs and Jakey anyhow!

Oh, hey guys. Today I am one year and ONE WEEK old and mean mommy is just now getting around to helping me blog about it. I know they have work and wedding and they don't really neglect me but sheesh!

Thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday.

For my birthday mom and dad gave me TWO meaty bones and loads of gourmet treatables. Grandma and grandpa also gave me a new stuffy that is really pawsome because it looks just like a real mole and mom says it's kind of ugly. I will post pictures of that stuff as soon as mom finds her camera battery charger. In the meantime check out pictures of me during my birthday week. Mom says I'm finally a big girl puggy because I hate to get out of bed in the morning.

I'm pretty excited, although my b-day (b for 'big') is being overshadowed by two things: mom's having ANOTHER pawty for getting married to dad and Mother's Day. Everypup has been asking, and yes (!) it's true that we have been so busy getting ready for this big wedding pawty that happens in five and a half weeks! Last weekend aunti Kim, aunti Maui, aunti Jen, grandma and I threw a mini-pawty for mom. They called it a "shower." That must be the reason mom insisted on giving me a bath the night before. Aunti Maui brought a shirt for me that says "Mommy's Taken." This is my super tough look that says "stay away from my mommy, doggins!"
She's mine! I tend to feel a little jelly when she shares her affections, you know.
Mom and dad did find some time to take me for a walkie today. It has been so cold here but it finally is warming up. I was thrilled to be out and about the neighborhood! I had to pull extra hard to start working on my muscles for the wedding (not because I am out of practice walking nicely on the leash).
Don't I look like a pug boat? I mean, a tug boat?I also had to pick up some pee-mail.We met a totally crazy looking fella on our walk. This neighborhood is full of hippies! (The truck is just visiting, of course.)
When we got home mommy gave me some of her apple sauce. It's part of our plan to eat more healthy fruitables. It's a yummy plan!

Clover ROCKS!

A few weeks ago mommy arrived home to find a package at our doorstep. It was shipped from Canadaland, so I thought it was from my best buddy, Canadian Clover! When mommy opened the box I knew it was from Clover!
I wish I had a picture of myself next to the box that I could share with you, but my address is visible in all of them and mommy doesn't have photoshop (or maybe she doesn't know how to use her photo editing software... whatever!). But I can tell you that inside the box were the best giftables ever!
She sent me a lambie stuffy (which I promptly destroyed... Clover must be so much more gentle with stuffies than me) and delicious grain-free treats. Mom is so mean and made me do lots of tricks for a taste.
Mmm, delicioso! Clover's dad also drew this beautiful picture of me and it made mom all teary-eyed. She's such a baby. It is lovely and I have no words to explain how perfect it is.

First: Happy barkday, Ruby!

Mom FINALLY has a 'puter, time AND a memory card all at once! Now I can give you a full account of my spring so far. But first, a juicy goober schnoz picture for my airebuddy, Stanley:
As some of you may know, mom and dad are really busy lately planning a big party that happens in a little over 7 weeks... their wedding. Daddy and I helped Nana Rita and mom pick out some flower girl dresses.
If you biggify the picture, you can see how daddy and I feel about this task. I am the ring bearer and although I love love love pink, I hope they don't get any ideas about making me wear one of those dresses!

Mom has been buying me a LOT of clothes since the winter stuff is all going on sale... because supposedly winter is over. Not that you would know it if you lived in Minnie-snowta (there's talk of ANOTHER snow storm this weekend. Ugh!).
When she brings the good stuff home I kinda feel like a mo-model, you know what I mean?

Good News - and other news...

First I have to tell you that my best buddy Clover sent me a package all the way from Cananada! Mom took all sorts of pictures of me with a toy (my new fave!), some yummy treats and a beautiful piece of artwork but of course her 'puter is still on the fritz. I promise to post the pictures as soon as we're all fixed up around here. Thanks, Clover! I love the giftables!

The good news is that mommy finally got some geniuses at the Apple store to work on her 'puter. The bad news is that her hard drive bit the dust and she might lose all her precious photos and lots of music if they can't save the files. They're keeping the iBook at the store over the weekend to see what they can do to help her out. Mom says this will teach her a big lesson about backing up files and giving her pug more treatables. (Okay, I'll admit I made that last part up.)

The other news is that mom and dad are going to Suki Suuu Falls (in South Dakoh-ta, oh yah) over the weekend so mom can try on her pretty white dress. No pugs allowed, they say, which is fine because I didn't feel like spending 8 hours in the car anyway and I love my grandma and grandpa and uncles!

I am going to take lots of walkies this weekend because the weather is supposed to stay above freezing (whoopee!). I'm getting a little pudgy hanging out with grams and gramps so much this month. They're really good at giving in to my puggy chirps and snorts at meal time. I bet Pedro likes a little ba-donka-donk though.

We are so proud of daddy today because he went to TEXAS last week to take a really important test. He has been waiting and waiting for his results... and tonight we found out that he PASSED with a 99 pawcent! That means that dad will soon be an Air Traffic Controller and mommy is beaming because she has such a smart husband-to-be.

PS - Mom's computer is still broken so I have no new pictures to share, but I can assure you that she has been taking cuterest pictures of me. I can't wait to share them with you!

Hi! I want to let everydoggy know that I am STILL ALIVE! I miss you all and I promise I will blog again soon.

March is a really crazy month for mom and dad, so I've been spending lots of time with grandma, grandpa and my uncles Trigger and Jakey. Last week we had really nice weather (like 45 degrees!) so mom took me on a really long walk and I got all muddy. It was pawsome. It's good to be a pug.

I hope everyone has a happy St. Patrick's Day! Mom and dad are both Irish for reals and so this is one their favorite holidays. They're calling me Suki O'Sumo. I hope everyone got to try some of the corny beefs. Mom let me have some and OMDog was it delicious! Woof!

The package from Pedro arrived while some men were working on our aparmtent. They said they are "dog people" but their dogs have never received anything in the mail... so they think I am a very special pug and that mommy is a little crazy. I just feel bad that their dogs don't have pawsome blog friends and cuterest BOYfriends like meee!

This box has hearts all over it because Suki loves Pedro.
There is a card included that says "SUKI" in fancy gold and also there is a super chewy felt heart (of course I had to taste it).
I wanted to read the card myself.
I can't believe I have a Valentine on my very first Valentine's day!
Pedro sent me so many goodies, including my two new favorite toys. This one says "LOVE" because that's what Valentine's Day is all about. Also this is a SQUEAKABLE, which is the best kind of toy. It is the loudest squeakable anyone has ever heard! So pawsome.
The other toy is a fuzzy blue animal thing. You probably spotted it in the first picture (which is the only picture of the box that doesn't clearly show Pedro and my addresses).
I got to take that bad blue boy to work yesterday and that was very entertaining. Is there anything else in the box?

A big giant update.

I had a really exciting week. I suppose I should post about it in order. First I went to a pug meet-up, where I was mostly annoyed with all the other pugs.
There I am with ears back and tail about to descend. I wasn't really in the mood to socialize. Mom and dad said I was being a trouble maker because a few times I decided to tuck tail and run in big circles around the place, about a dozen pugs would chase me, and it caused all sorts of puppy pandemonium. It was like a little pug-cyclone. Ha-ha!
Later that night mom and dad had a get together at grandma and grandpa's house (they were vacationing in San Francisco). I got to see some of my most favorite humans like Aunti Kim!
After the party with Aunti Kim, Nen and Maui, I had a pretty normal week. That is until I met my neighbor Ike after many months of pee-mailing all over Summit Avenue! OMD is he handsome or what? (No worries Pedro, you're still my main pup).
Ike's mom and dad are awesome because they fed my mom and dad and me pizza and beer, which are pretty much the best foods ever. Ike wasn't feeling overly sociable but I would say that we kind of bonded over our love of pizza crusts and treatables. But then his mom gave my mom these terrible torture devices:
They are called "BOOTIES" and I think they are appropriately named because they are BOOTY. They make me do the high-step and look ridiculous! This is about as close as Ike and I got all night and here he is sympathizing with me on the whole clothes thing.
Ike's mom also gave me this coat which I do like so THANK YOU, Ike's mom!
I know this is a really long blog posting but I got a couple more giftables so let me tell you about them quickly. After the booty-abuse mom and dad felt bad so they went to Bone Adventure and brought home a pig snoutable, a delicious knee cap and a pizzle! Mmm. That snout may have been more delectable than beer, even. Maybe.
And finally! Drumroll please... Daddy picked up that mysterious package from the post office! It was a super cool pug calendar from Ms. Jemima Jones and her mom!
I was super tired from my exciting week so I made dad unwrap it and bring it to me so I could investigate from the comfort of my kennel. Oh boy, I am dreaming of spring when I will have warm weather acceptable for outdoor pooping like this pug. Thanks, Jemima! My mom and dad and I love it and mom says she's going to hang it up at work. She's known there as the crazy pug lady. Whatever!

Mysterious Package

Hey all! Last week we received a notice that there was a package for "Summer" the mail carrier attempted to deliver to our apartment. We figured it was the wrong address so we didn't do anything about it. Well, it occurred to mom today that the mail carrier may have seen "Sumo" and figured it was "Summer" or whatever... So mom called the post office and it turns out that there is a package waiting for Jen and Suki! We have no idea who it is from but are totally excited to find out. I'll update you later!

What up, dogs? Certainly not the temperature. This morning we woke up to -12 degrees Fahrenheit (with some serious wind chill). That is -24.44444 degrees Celsius for my Canadian friends! It's even colder than the last time mom and I were complaining on my blog!
But this made my mommy feel better (thanks, KR!).

Lately I've been feeling a little mischievous since it's too cold for walkies. These socks that I stole from mommy might help keep my tootsies warm.
Don't worry, I never get in trouble for stealing the socks. I'm a pug. And adorable.
So adorable that grandma bought me a new toy a while back. It is one of my favoriterest. I love my Wubba and it matches pawfectly with my pretty blue harness.
Besides keeping each other warm lately we have sort of been wedding crazy. Check this out:

Hi hi hi hi guys! It's TRIGGER and I am hacking into Suki's blogger.

This is us on Christmas. Do you see her in the background with sissy Maui and my bone?
She is always stealing my bone. But Christmas is about GIVING and I am a love sponge so I put up with it. Plus there were more important things to think about like my very important Christmas job. M and I were in charge of handing out the pressies.

She needed some assistance to open it.

A SQUEAKY STUFFY!
Now if this was very own stuffy I would love it, shake it and chew it until it was sufficiently dead and de-stuffed because it kind of reminds me of a squirrel (and killing squirrels for Boss is my other job). My guess is sissy Jen and BFAM (brother from another mother) Leo will take it home and I'll never see the likes of it again. What a shame.

Ruh-roh, the Fun Police is making his Christmas rounds! Suki and M must be having too much fun with the squeaky!
I probably don't have to tell you this but Sukes is totally spoiled by Boss and mom (her grandparents).
I really like that harness on her. It has such a wonderful texture - so soft! I wonder if they make Puppias big enough for German shorthairs? (Leo is really excited too.)
Jakey the Christmas Beagle inspected the tree for more treats. Don't worry, we big dogs got loves and chewies too!

Yesterday was daddy's birthday. He's 175 years old. Mom says that's pretty young still but I don't know about that. Happy birthday, old man! We love you.
Dad went out to celebrate over the weekend and was up pretty late. I had to help him recover. If you look closely you can see my dad "resting" with me.
Today is CHRISTMAS! I hope you all are enjoying yours. Ours is WHITE! Mom says "FINALLY!"

We're up at Grandma & Grandpa's house but we still haven't opened the pressies yet... However, Santa Paws did bring me a pretty pink stocking with squeakers in it! And rumor has it there are more pressies under the tree for me than any other member of the family.

Mommy did let me open my Secret Santa giftable from Leah, Daisy and Oscar. I love it! They sent me a pawsome festive necklace and the book Homer for the Holidays. Mom owns The Tao of Pug so she was pretty excited to get the second book and dad loves it too! Thank you, Daisy, Oscar and Leah!

My slacker mom has finally sent all but one of the Pay it Forward giftables out. I expect they should be arriving early next week for those in the US and hopefully soon after that for Clover up in Canada! The very last giftable (for Sherman, Penny and Lola) will go out by the end of the week - mom just wants to make one more gift so the whole pack doesn't have to share.

We sent the Secret Santa gift exchange package on Saturday so our (shhh) secret blogger will be receiving their pressie this week. Our Secret Santas were Oscar, Daisy and Leah and they sent us a pawsome gift! I'll be modeling and showing off the new duds shortly!

I've been spending a lot of time with my grandpa, Trigger and Jakey lately but mom has a nice long vacation coming up. I'm sure we'll be blogging all the time over the break!

Clover is one of my besties as well and I am so honored that she feels the same way. I want to give this award to all of my blog buddies because ever since I came to live with my mom and dad in June you have all been my super good best friends! I woof you all. I also want to give it to my uncle Trigger even though he doesn't have a blog.

Also my mom finds these test results very amusing. I'm not sure why.

There has been this tag going around that looks interesting. It says to tell 8 random facts about yourself, and since I love to write about myself I think I am going to give it a try:

1. My full name is Suki Sumo Wrestler but my family has all sorts of nicknames for me. Some of them are Doodoo and Doodee (I answer to both of these names), Booty, Sukes, Dukes and Duki. My grandpa calls me Lullabelle, which is one of the nicknames they had for a pug they used to have (mommy says "we love you, Ms. Piggy!").

2. I love slippers and socks.

3. I can always tell when my mom is trying to trick me into eating healthy treats. If it's a fruit or vegetable I usually hold out for the good stuff (the Jemima treats!). I'll only eat the healthy stuff when I realize I will not be getting the biscuits.

4. We live above a pizza restaurant and all of the employees are in love with me. I'm basically their mascot! Sometimes I even find tasty pizza treats frozen in the snow but my mom never lets me munch for long (so mean!).

5. I like to attack my mom and dad with pug love in the morning.

6. I swat at things with my paws like a cat.

7. When I come home the first thing I do is run into the kitchen and drink water out of my dispenser. I love that stuff.

8. I know when the camera turns on that it is time to pose pretty. I'm a total ham - can't help it!

Suki Sumo here, reporting from the busy Sumo household.
Mommy had a crazy week of work which meant that I got to hang with my newly retired Grandpa and uncle Trigger. Unfortunately, nodoggy took pictures of this so you'll just have to imagine the rowdy playtime fun.

Yesterday was the V.E.T. day to get my stitchies out. We had some extra time before the appointment so mommy bought me this new Crabby Pants or Crab Cake or something like that and it is the best squeakable ever.
My parents quickly realized those eyeballs were going to be trouble so they performed the amputation opawation before I could get to them and eat them up. I've already got two nice holes started. This Crabby Pants won't last for long!

Today is Randay so mommy and I are browsing the internets and catching up on the dog blogs.
Daddy is watching the news and I am staying informed on all the current news and pawlitics.
And we're cuddling, because it is cold outside.
I want to publicly announce that as of last week I do not like winter and can't wait for grass to come back. There is nothing worse than having to do my official bidness outside in the cold and snow. I imagine my paws could fall off in those negative temperatures, so the parents are considering their potty options. Does any other dog have to go in a litter box during the winter? Is this undignified for a dog? Would this make me a ... cat?

Mom would now like to now do the activity that Clover's mom tagged her for: "Devise a list of 5-10 courses you would take to fix your life. It’s more fun to be in classes with friends, so include one class from the person who tagged you that you’d also like to take. Tag five."

1. Learn to Love Cooking! I can make a few meals but cooking is definitely not one of my strengths. While I like to eat, cooking is not exciting to me. Plus I despise grocery shopping.

2. Yoga (I would take this with Jess) - when I took this is college I loved it and felt so flexible and strong. I'll have to find a class that meets at a good time this winter (as in, not at 5 a.m. and not at 8 p.m.).

3. Dance Lessons - I wish Leo and I could dance really well, especially with the upcoming wedding. Leo's mom has offered to pay for lessons but with work these days there just hasn't been much time. Which leads me to my next class:

4. Effective Time Management 101 - there is so much to do and not enough hours in the day! I want to figure out how to spend quality time with Suki and Leo, work out, learn to dance, craft, keep a clean apartment, socialize, plan the wedding, cook, and read all the dog blogs. What I need is a personal scheduler.

5. Money Management - I'm not terrible with money but I wish I could do more with what I earn. Mostly I want to save more so one day we can buy a house with a yard for Suki!

6. Relaxation and Meditation - enough said!

7. Digital Photography - I've taken a black & white photography class before and I really enjoyed it. I would love to buy a Cannon EOS camera one day (see Money Management Class!) and learn to use it well.

8. Be the Decider - Unlike Dubbya, I am not the Decider and I have a really hard time choosing between a list of options. I inherited this from my dad (Suki's grandpa). From deciding where I want to live to picking out a meal at a restaurant - I could change my mind all day long. I've learned that the fewer options I have, the better - especially with the wedding planning these days!

An update:

I finally got through to a vet tech and she said Suki is doing great. In fact her words were "she is a HYPER little bugger!"

All is well. But do not doubt that I will have plenty to say this evening when we pick her up from the office.

Hi everyone, this is Suki's mom - I have hacked into her blogger to give you an update. Thanks so much for the well wishes, thoughts, and concern. Suki's dad dropped her off at the V.E.T. yesterday morning at about 9:00 a.m. and the tech told us to come back after 3:00 tomorrow (today). He was told to call at 4:00 yesterday to get an update, and both Leo and I have been calling ever since. Either no one picks up or the phone is busy - we both called pretty much incessantly from 3:30-7:30 last night, and I started making calls again this morning on my way to work at 8:00.

Of course we realize that no news is good news, but it is also frustrating and a little scary not being able to get a hold of anyone at the office. I will keep trying. I put up with the 8 cats and crazy asthma attacks and driving a half hour to get to this vet office when there are many veterinary offices right on my street. I'm just not sure we will take her back to this place. I'm worried about my baby and no one will pick up the damn phone!

Think lots of positive thoughts for us and hopefully someone will give us some good news soon.

Happy Thanksgiving, pups and people. Today I am thankful for mommy, daddy, grammie, grampa, aunti Maui, aunti Jen and Kim and my uncles Trigger and even Jakey. I am also thankful for all my DWB friends, foodables, treats and the fact that my mommy and daddy are finally getting hitched this year. I get to be the ring bear-errr (I'm working on my ROAR!). I hope this does not mean I have to wear a costume.

I am also thankful that Clover's spay surgery went well today. My spay day is next week.

Finally, I am thankful that I finally met this SNOW stuff in person. I LOVE YOU, SNOW! Mommy says I will be seeing a lot more of you this winter. Woo!

My V.E.T. & Other Updates

Good news, pups! Mommy, grammie, and grandpa took me to the V.E.T. over the weekend for my last shots for an ENTIRE YEAR. This makes me very happy. I'm a good girl at Dr. H's place but I'm not crazy about the shots.

I like Dr. H because he's kind of goofy looking with an Einstein 'do and a poofy mustache. The best part about the doc is that he loves pugs and gives me all sorts of hugs and kisses and attention and tells me how cute I am. Dr. H raises pugs and I think he said he is owned by eleven right now (some are puppies).

The doc weighed me and I now tip the scales at a whopping 13.5 ell-bees. He told mommy that I'll top out at 15 or 16 pounds, so I am almost a full grown pug-a-lug now. Mommy is relieved as she was worried she was going to have a 25 pounder on her hands. It seems I will be on the small side. No matter, I can still wrassle with the big doggins like nobody's bidness.
In other news, I busted out of my pink Puppia harness because I am STRONG so grammie had to order me a new one. Daddy was happy to hear that I'll be sporting a non-pink harness soon. Mommy reminded him that he's almost a married man anyhow so it doesn't really matter whether people question his preferences (um, does he prefer other kinds of dogs? Cats? I don't understand this one).

Finally, mommy and I are working feverishly on the Pay it Forward giftables. Mommy isn't the most crafty woman (certainly not like Jemima and Norman Featherstone's motherables!). She crafts like she drives: impatiently. But I can assure Clover, Sherman, Penny, Lola, Ike, and Balboa that I have tested your giftables and they have been approved. You might even find a few little renegade Suki Su hairs on the crafts as a bonus. But um, neither of us are sure when exactly these packages will be ready for mailing so hang tight, buddies!

OH YEAH! And I saw a commercial with some weirdo human posing as Chuck Norris. Do not be alarmed - the real Chuck Norris is a six-legged pink stuffy who lives in my toy basket and he is CERTAINLY not a republican. My Chuck Norris will kick Fake Chuck Norris' butt with six times the roundhouse.

Today mommy and I received our Pay it Forward giftables from Ms. Jemima Jones and her mom, Rachele. OMD I LOVE THEM! Jemima and Rachele sent us homemade peanut butter and graham cracker TREATS. Mommy even had a little tasty-taste and totally approves (mommy actually has a habit of nibbling my gourmet treats out of curiosity). They also sent orange ASPCA bracelets (mommy's favorite color!), a new pink elephant toy, and a hand knit hat and mitten set for mommy!
I really like this elephant business! It reminds me of Eli (RIP) except it is squeakable and I love squeakies! Yoink!
The treats are DELECTABLE and I would say four jars is about enough to last me four hours. Just kidding! (Mommy made me write "just kidding." Since I can't open jars I suppose I will be subjected to treat rationing).
Of course mommy loves her new hat and mitten set, being a Minnesotan. Rachele, you are SO talented and the hat and mittens are beautiful!

Big Girl Birthday Wishes

My gal pal Suki (same name, different pug!) is ONE and lots of us doggies are whooping it up at Disney World in Florida this weekend. Isn't she a pretty girl?
Before I left mom made sure to pack my Mickey stuffy (because I would be lonely without him).

The Halloween Story

Oh my dog, I am so sorry I have not updated in such a long time. We have been too busy with Halloween and mommy's long work hours to share this week. Mommy has been acting like a crazy picture lady though.

This is me, forlorn and hoping my DWB friends will remember me after this long, blogless week.
On Sunday we had Pug-O-Ween. This meant that I had to get up in the morning and endure costume torture. I am still trying to figure out why they dressed me up like a devil.

I would say I put up a good fight. But check out daddy - he seems to be enjoying this in the photographic evidence. Argh!
I hated that tail!
Onward to Pug-O-Ween. I had a twin! As you can see, we were the engine and caboose of the butt sniffin' train.
There were more pugs at this meet-up than I have ever seen in my entire life (probably around 100). Their humans dressed them up as spiders, skeletons, pumpkins, Yoda, Frankenstein, and even Fred & Wilma Flinstone!
I made a new BFF. Her name is Bindi (after Bindi Sue, daughter of the beloved Steve Irwin, whom mommy loves). When I wasn't begging for treats I was wrasslin' with her. She's four months old and about half my size. "What a little beauuuuty!" I realized at this meet-up that for my age I am large - and in charge - but not fat.
And oh yeah... we had a visitor from New York. What a crazy dude!
He may look odd but he gives really good butt scratches. I loved waking him up in the morning with my snotty sneezes and lots of puggy kisses. That dude loves to party!

At one time I held the household record in Ultimate Stuffy Destruction. And then this guy came along.
Sure, he looks cute and cuddly like a cotton ball, but Bob the Bichon definitely has a dark side. He destroyed every single last stuffy I owned besides Chuck Norris (mommy put him away for our visit, and thank goodness for that!). Mind you, he was only visiting for two days.

I'm not sure what to make of all this.

Perfect puggy weather!
This is my first one and I LOVE IT. It means more walks on the Summit Avenue and more time in Grammie's yard with Trigs and Jakey.
Do you know what else I love? DWB! This is why:

I get to learn all about the FOODABLES of other doggins and mommy at least considers them
So many FRIENDABLES!
Fame and glory (I am on the internets searching for my fortune)
I can always count on other dog blogs to make mommy smile and laugh, even on the most challenging days

I have been a busy pug lately and this is a quick update in pictures. Prepare yourself: this is going to be heavy on the pug and light on the text!

I had a pug meetup where I took care of that kid.
I taught mommy that if she gives me salmon snacks I will "TWIRL!"
"LAY DOWN!"
and "SPEAK!"
Dang, those salmon snacks were delicious! I've got the 'rents soooo puggy-whipped.
Every day brings a new opportunity for a photo shoot. I think I look a bit like Winston Pugsworth here. Pensive yet benevolent. Cunning. A little worried. Believe me, this look definitely gets the treats.
I did such a good job convincing them I am a good girl that they took me to LAKE COMO! I love it love it love it!
The fishing dock makes me a little nervous.
But I'm pretty brave.
This week hasn't been all fun and games. The humans also dressed me up in a Count Pugula costume.
Which doubles as Frankenpug.I was a pretty good sport, considering.

OMD. Mommy has apparently been "too busy" to update my blog lately. She tried a couple times over the weekend to upload some videos (mostly of me barking and showing my stuffy, Chuck Norris, how tough I am) but she said they took furever and so she gave up. Mommy promises to help me update about my latest puggy adventures and the game that Wally tagged me for soon.
